100 DAYS of Summer - Celebrating
the 100th Birthday of the Main Lodge.
Although Viamede has been serving its customers since 1870 it is a
little known fact that in 1907 the
entire main lodge was consumed by fire. Exacting a devastating
blow
to then owner Colonel Sam Strickland. It took just under 2 years
to recreate the "Grand Lady" and in the Spring of 1909 owner
Mrs Robert Graham reopened the lodge to her loyal customers.
Since 1909 the Lodge has given uninterupted service to its faithful
guests, although the lodge of today has gone through many
transformations throughout the decades; the origional building
still exsists under the new facade of the 2008 version. Many a
guests have often said it has a unique energy, a feeling of home and
hapiness. We invite you to join us this summer as we
celebrate this momentus occasion, looking forward to a continued spirit
of creating wonderful memories..
